Despite the progress made in the area of racial discrimination, problems in the workplace persist. Often, the discrimination is not overt, instead taking the form of missed promotions or a double-standard on workplace expectations.
Unfortunately, racial slurs in the workplace are also still common. No one should feel threatened or marginalized because of his or her race. When a culture of discriminatory conduct is allowed to fester, the working environment can become unbearable for the victim.
We encourage you to report incidents of discrimination to your superiors. If the employer fails to take action, it’s time to call a lawyer. We represent clients who have been subjected to shocking displays of racial discrimination and those who have been more subtly kept from achieving their goals due to biases in management.
